Sonya Sigler moderated this lively panel discussion on strategies to stay focused when running and growing your own business. The discussion focused on ways to manage your schedule and stick to your priorities. Boundary setting is imperative when running your own business. You get to choose how you run it, what kind of culture you want to build, and what kind of customer you want to serve. Growing your business beyond a sole proprietorship will necessitate hiring others, building trusted working relationships, and delegating work.
If you would like help in figuring out how to run your business more efficiently and effectively, please contact Sonya Sigler. The panelists bio, picture, and contact info is included below.
Sonya Sigler – Owner of PractiGal, a business coaching consultancy (Moderator)
Alice Tang – Partner, BPG Wealth Management
Pam Isom – Founder, President/CEO ICE Safety Solutions, a health & safety training/equipment company
Graciela Tiscareno-Sato – Owner of Gracefully Global, a multi-cultural publisher
Shannon Berg – Owner of Berg & Associates, a PR crisis consultancy
The RSVP survey showed a need to focus on hiring and delegating work:

The takeaways from this discussion were:
– Block off important, sacred time on your calendar – for you, for short-term and long-term planning, and for concentrated work.
– Boundary setting is important for you and everyone else in your company.
– Empower your people to take care of things for you, invest in their training, and mentor their work (in a good way).
– Similar to our discussion on self-care – learning that “No.” is a complete sentence is great for self-preservation and for managing your calendar.
– Understand your ideal customer, their traits, and their behavior. Take on only these types of customers unless there is a VERY, VERY good reason to do otherwise.
